Hidden Flame was born from a simple belief: your love deserves to be seen for what it really is—unpolished, moving, and alive. I approach every wedding as more than an event; it’s a living story filled with glances, pauses, and fleeting moments that might otherwise slip by unnoticed.

This work isn’t about staged perfection. It’s about creating a space where you can exist fully, knowing that the real, unrepeatable parts of your story are being honored.

Photography That Starts With Humanity

When we connect, the photos reflect it.

Connection Above All

Photography is proof of your love, not a performance.

Art With Soul

The best moments aren’t staged.

Presence Over Perfection

Every couple has a story worth honoring.

Empathy First

my Core Values

I photograph because art reminds us that we’re not alone. It tells us that the fleeting moments we hold close—the hand squeeze, the quiet laugh, the inhale before a vow—are worth remembering.

I do this for couples who spend their lives giving to others and deserve to feel fully seen. My camera is my way of slowing the world down, honoring the beauty and goodness that would otherwise pass silently by.

Why I Do This

work with me

I’m Ryan—a writer, former Navy Corpsman, lifelong observer, and the human behind Hidden Flame. My journey to photography started with words. I spent years writing, captivated by the ways stories make us feel less alone. Eventually, I realized I could tell those same stories through light and shadow instead of sentences.

After more than a decade of photographing weddings, I’ve learned that the best images aren’t about looking perfect—they’re about feeling present, alive, and deeply loved.

When I’m not behind the lens, you’ll find me talking to dogs in a baby voice, adding way too many toppings to a hot dog, or perfecting my “Marry Me Chicken.” I’ve studied martial arts since I was nine, once lived in Spain for two years, and I’ve never met a french fry I didn’t like.

I’ve Lived a Few Lives Before This One

Ready to Feel Fully Seen?

let's connect

If my work resonates with you, I’d love to learn your story and honor it with images that feel like memory and art all at once.
